The AACSB Accreditation Team, officially called AACSB Peer Review Team, completed its visit and evaluation of the College of Management, Mahidol University between June 2-5, 2019.  The evaluation was based on the 15 AACSB standards that have been internationally accepted among the most recognized business schools in the world.

The visit started with an informal dinner between the Accreditation Team and CMMU Senior Management Team on Sunday night.  The formal visit was kicked off by Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President of Mahidol University, who came to CMMU to talk to the Accreditation Team as evidence of their strong commitment to the College on Monday, June 3, 2019.  After this, many interviews and conversations were made with faculty, staff, students, and CMMU stakeholders.  The formal visit process concluded on June 5, 2019, when the Accreditation Team presented their findings and recommendation to (1) CMMU Dean and the Management Team and (2) Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, M.D. FACS., Acting Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs

In the next step, the team’s recommendation will go to the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) to make the final and official decision on the initial accreditation of CMMU.  CMMU is grateful for the knowledge and experience learned and suggestions and guidance given by probably (one of) the most experienced Accreditation Teams.  The Accreditation Team who visited CMMU consisted of 1) Prof. Geoff Perry (Chair), Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Auckland University of Technology, NZ [Vice Chair of AACSB Initial Accreditation Committee] 2) Prof. Thomas M. Begley, Dean, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA [Chair of AACSB Initial Accreditation Committee] 3) Prof. Wenkai Li, Dean, the International University of Japan 4) Dr. Stephanie M. Bryant (Observer), Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer, AACSB International

Founded in the US, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is a global organization devoted to the advancement of management education.  With over 100 years of existence, it is currently the most well-known and respected business accreditation institution in the world. Among 17,000 institutions that teach business management education around the world, less than 5% of those are accredited by the AACSB.  For institutions outside of North America, the figure is even lower with less than 2% of the institutions that teach business management education.

In the next step, the AACSB Accreditation team’s recommendation will go to the Initial Accreditation Committee to make the final and official decision on the accreditation of CMMU.

ภาพบรรยากาศการตรวจรับรองมาตรฐานคุณภาพสถาบันการศึกษาให้กับวิทยาลัยการจัดการ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล (CMMU) โดยทีมกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิและตัวแทนผู้บริหารระดับสูงจาก AACSB ที่เดินทางมากจากนิวซีแลนด์ สหรัฐอเมริกา และญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งการตรวจประเมินในครั้งนี้เป็นการตรวจเพื่อเข้าสู่กระบวนการรับรองอย่างเป็นทางการ (Official Accreditation)  ทั้งนี้องค์กร AACSB เป็นองค์กรที่ก่อตั้งมากว่าหนึ่งร้อยปีและได้รับการยอมรับเป็นอย่างสูงในด้านการรับรองคุณภาพสถาบันการศึกษาด้านการบริหารจัดการธุรกิจ  ปัจจุบันมีสัดส่วนสถาบันการศึกษาที่ได้รับการรับรองไม่ถึง 5% จากสถาบันทั้งหมดกว่า 17,000 แห่งทั่วโลก 

ในกระบวนการถัดไป AACSB Peer Review Team จะนำผลการตรวจเยี่ยมในครั้งนี้เข้าที่ประชุม Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) เพื่อพิจารณาและรับรองผลการตรวจประเมินอย่างเป็นทางการ
