CMMU has many qualified faculty members with strong research experience available. Confirming our research strength, seven of our full-time faculty members have been accepted for the Royal Golden Jubilee (RGJ) Ph.D. Scholarship Program, awarded by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), Thailand's national research funding agency.

Every student will be assigned a faculty supervisor in their area of interest upon admission, to guide their research. The purpose of our admission procedure is to match qualified applicants with CMMU faculty advisors.

The following admission requirements while be assessed as a whole, to give a complete picture of the applicant's profile, career objectives and suitability for Ph.D. studies. You can also apply if you do not (yet) meet all the requirements, as they are targets, not limits.

Entrance Test

CMMU regularly organizes an English language test for applicants without a recent TOEFL or IELTS score, and an analytical test once a year for applicants without a GMAT score. The CMMU entrance tests are held on weekend dates.

Panel Interview

All candidates who meet the desired targets for the English language test, the Analytical Test, master degree GPA, and the other parts of the application will be invited for an interview. This interview will be led by a small panel of faculty members who are conducting research in the students' stated area of interest.

Scholarship Support

The CMMU Ph.D. program is now offering one full scholarship per year. The scholarship is for highly qualified applicants who intend to study full-time. Applicants for the scholarships must either have a Bachelor Degree with first class honor, or a Master Degree with GPA ≥ 3.75.

Fields of Study

The structure of the Ph.D. program assumes that most of the content-based knowledge related to the students' academic specializations will be obtained through a combination of prior coursework completed in their Master degree program, individual guided reading in the Directed Reading and Current Topics course, and guided empirical study in the 1st-year coursework and in the student's doctoral dissertation research. Every student will be assigned a full-time faculty advisor upon admission to the program.
