A seminar on LOKAL Re:Generative with SMAC Network
The seminar began with opening remarks from the Dean of CMMU, Assoc. Prof Prattana Punnakitikashem who highlighted the importance CMMU places on dialogue that connects academic insights with real-world practice.
Our ACSDSD Doctoral Research Fellow, Rosalind Yunibandhu then shared her research on regenerative dynamics and regenerative mind qualities, showing how theory supports the non-linear ripple effects a regenerative mind might have on systems transformation that nurtures vitality of communities and ecosystems at every scale.
Participants broke into deep conversations about how regeneration might touch their own lives and work. Ideas and curiosity sparked across sectors as diverse as agriculture, healing retreats, and even politics. Dr. Piya Kerdlap, Ph.D. , the moderator, brought in thoughtful provocations that stimulated rich and meaningful discussion.
Participants were also inspired by case studies of community-based tourism in Ban Chiang and Ban Lam, beautifully presented by Assoc. Professor Dr. Suparak Suriyankietkaew , Dr. Sukanda Thinthan, and Dr. Krittawit Chris Krittayaruangroj, our TSDF Research Fellow. These stories showed how villages can leverage their heritage, identity, and ecosystems to create outcomes that bring vitality to communities and nature.
A special touch from CMMU was gifting all participants the CRSL textbook Sufficiency Thinking🇹🇭, which resonates strongly with many of the dynamics they explored.
