Abstract: Engagement at work has been a much-studied topic in the past few decades. However, during the last three decades, engagement research has been dominated majorly by quantitative studies. This study aims to point out at the significance of contextual factors in the wide and seemingly saturated research panorama of engagement. Essentially, this study should be seen as a comparison of Kahn’s (1990) grounded theory with other studies where using the limitations from previous studies, this study aims to establish a clear evidence for future research directions. This study will help managers change their perspective to engagement. To the question of saturation of engagement research, context is the answer.
