The College of Management Mahidol University would like to congratulate Ms. Nijsiree Vongariyajit, our graduate student, who has, with her thesis advisor, published a report entitled "A Test of the Sustainability Vision Theory: Is It Practical?" in Sustainability, a Q1 journal with an ISI impact factor of 3.251. Sustainability is also ranked among the top three journals in the Sustainable Development category by Google Scholar.
In her Master's thesis, Nijsiree has examined a Sustainability Vision theory by simulating and testing a retail store environment that comprises Sustainability Vision, Vision Communication, Empowerment of Staff, Motivation of Staff, and Staff Satisfaction variables using a sample of 169 retail stores in Bangkok Metropolitan area.
Findings reveal that visions characterized by brevity, clarity, future orientation, stability, challenges, abstractness and an ability to inspire, and which contain imageries about improving sales, store leadership, and customer and staff satisfaction indirectly and directly predict improved store sustainability prospects via Staff Satisfaction.
